Watch out for Gypsy's

Lately there have been a lot of “out of town” guys in North Queensland staying in caravan parks, parking signage trailers around town in random spots and putting signs up on power and light poles advertising really cheap roof paint jobs. Don’t get caught out!

Always research who you are dealing with by searching them up online and using the qbcc license search Licensee search | Queensland Building and Construction Commission (qbcc.qld.gov.au), you will probably find their “real” address is from Brisbane, NSW or VIC somewhere or they may not even be licensed to work in QLD by qbcc. Some even tell you they are local and say they are from Wulguru for example, make sure you go one step further and ask for the address to see if they are lying or if the address they give is for the local caravan park and not an office. They come up from down south as during winter in the colder climates it is very hard to work on a roof so they come up here but then leave before our summer and the cyclones hit, when it gets too hot and wet for them, which is fine as we don’t blame them for that 🥵 😂. The problem starts when the wets arrive and you have a leak and try to call them and they are nowhere to be found, back down south.
