Dodgy Tile Repairs

You wouldn’t believe what we find when we carry out a roof inspection almost every day. There are so many “dodgy” repairs carried out and the scary thing is most are not done by the owner, they actually paid someone to carry out a professional repair !

The images below are from a recent tile roof inspection we did and not long ago these people paid for a roof restoration by another local company. Let me tell you, fiberglass is not a recognized repair on any roof type and silicon has no place on a tile roof. We had our work cut out for us restoring this roof and repairing the damage done by the previous trades. So many many tile changes later and a lot of hard work rebedding and pointing the ridge caps plus removing the old coating, these owners are very thankful for the professional job we have carried out and are now ready to face the oncoming wet season.

Always check with QBCC what licenses any trades hold before committing to and starting works on your home as you may be surprised. Just because a company may have the word “Roof” in their name doesn’t mean they are licensed roofers. One final note…. never never ever let anyone put fiberglass patches on your roof or tell you they will “weld” concrete tiles back together 😂
